Pierre joined the group in April 2026. During his Ph.D., he developed a GPU-accelerated Monte Carlo simulation engine to study polymer crystallization and phase behavior. As a postdoctoral scholar at the University of South Florida, he investigated the molecular origins of toughness and reinforcement in elastomeric nanocomposites, as well as sequence effects on the glass transition of copolymers. Currently, he is building polymer property benchmarks using high-quality molecular dynamics simulations to support machine-learning-guided inverse design of polymeric materials. Broadly, Pierre is interested in using molecular simulations, statistical mechanics, and data science to connect nanoscale polymer behavior to macroscopic performance. He is especially fascinated by how molecular heterogeneity and interfaces can be leveraged to design tougher, longer-lasting polymer materials.
